Alter Enersun, a company belonging to CL Grupo Industrial, today held the ceremony to mark the laying of the foundation stone for the new Huelva 2021 photovoltaic plant, which the company is already building in Huelva. Attending the event were the Mayor of Huelva, Gabriel Cruz Santana; the Regional Government Delegate of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Huelva, Bella Verano Domínguez; Ricardo Leal, Chairman of CL Grupo Industrial; José Luis Morlanes, CEO of Alter Enersun; and Raúl García, Managing Director of Alter Enersun.
This plant has a capacity of 50 MW and will have 113,686 solar panels installed, producing 100 GW per year, equivalent to the consumption of 28,000 households. GES, also belonging to CL Grupo Industrial, will be responsible for carrying out the construction works on this plant, which began this month and will continue until January 2021. The installation will be operational during the first four months of this year.

Huelva 2021 will reduce CO2 emissions by 90,000 tonnes per year and will involve an investment of 25 million euros. It is Alter Enersun’s second photovoltaic project in Huelva within its plan to build 400 MW in this province out of a total of 1,200 MW of photovoltaic and wind power in Spain. Last February, Huelva 2020, its first photovoltaic plant in Gibraleón, was inaugurated, with a further 49.9 MWp and the capacity to reduce CO2 emissions by another 100,000 tonnes per year.
