With the aim of further strengthening our commitment to innovation and the circular economy within Spain’s packaging ecosystem, we have joined PACKNET (Spanish Packaging Technology Platform). This alliance will enable our Packaging Division, made up of Plastiverd, Ondupack, Ondupet, Matías Gomà Tomàs, Papeleras de Arlanzón and Murcia Cartón, to accelerate the development of more sustainable and efficient solutions aligned with the sector’s environmental and regulatory challenges.
This alliance will allow us to access R&D&I initiatives, strengthen our collaboration network and share knowledge with other key players. It will also contribute to the sector’s competitiveness by enhancing the innovative capacity of our companies and facilitating access to the main market trends.

“Being part of PACKNET is a key step in our strategy for consolidation and growth within the packaging sector. Collaboration with other industry players will allow us to accelerate innovation in sustainable materials, optimise production processes and respond more effectively to the challenges posed by the circular economy,” highlighted Norman Masià, Innovation Director of CL Grupo Industrial’s Packaging Division.
Joining PACKNET forms part of our Group’s new 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, which includes an investment of 200 million euros to drive profitability and operational efficiency across all divisions. In this context, the Packaging Division is positioned as a key pillar, with an investment of more than 70 million euros aimed at modernising facilities, developing sustainable products and optimising production processes.
One of the first collaborations we carried out with PACKNET was the round table “Towards packaging circularity: implications of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation”, within the programme of the Empack Spain trade fair held this February in Bilbao.
Norman Masià was responsible for sharing our vision of the challenges and opportunities that the new PPWR Regulation presents for the sector.
